IT'S THE LAW!
Effective July 1st, 2009,  the Certificate of Completion issued by Virginia CCW Training, the extending learning division of Virginia Pistol, LLC, is to be accepted by every Circuit Court in Virginia for issuance of a Resident Virginia Concealed Carry Permit, as well as by the State Police for their issuance of Non-resident permits.  Section 18.2-308 (G)(7), Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended.

Virginia CCW Training, the extended learning division of Virginia Pistol, LLC, provides an extensive home study Handgun Safety Class incorporating proven NRA Pistol training techniques and NRA training material, that meets the requirements of Virginia law that qualifies you to obtain either a Resident or Non-Resident Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit.

Our course, unlike other courses offered on the internet, in our opinion is far superior!
Our course was developed by a NRA Certified Personal Protection Pistol Instructor with 13 years of law enforcement experience who is the Chief NRA Instructor and owner of an actual "brick and mortar" training facility located in Linden, Virginia where NRA Certified Pistol Courses are conducted every week of the year! TAKING THE COURSE AND RECEIVING YOUR CERTIFICATE IS AS EASY AS 1....2....3 !

1. Read the NRA pistol training material, and additional material we provide you

2. Complete a 20 question test consisting of true/false, multiple choice, and fill-in-the-blank questions. The same test local students must take. In keeping with NRA traditions, the test is an open book test!
(You must correctly answer 75% of the questions to pass the test.)

3. Send the completed test to us by Toll Free Fax, scan it and E-Mail it to us, or send it by regular mail.

If you pass the test, we will E-Mail you an attractive printable Course Completion Certificate.
If you do not pass the test, we will notify you by E-mail or phone, and you will be allowed to take the test a second time for no additional charge.

APPLYING FOR YOUR CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT:

Virginia Residents: With your course completion certificate from Virginia CCW Safety Training and a Virginia CCW Permit Application (available on this website or from the clerk of your local circuit court), you may go to your local circuit court clerk’s office and formally apply for your Resident Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit!

Non-Virginia Residents: Non-Resident Applicants should click on the 'Non-Resident Form' link on the left side of this page to obtain all needed forms.

If you took a NRA Pistol Course locally, the average cost for the course would be around $100.00 or more.

The only difference between our home study course and a local course is that there is no live fire and we issue a special completion certificate. Live fire is NOT required to obtain your permit!
